Performances Take Place At
Annenberg Center
For The Performing Arts
3680 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104
Performances Are An Hour Long And
Include
A “Talkback Session”
With The Company
Did you know by attending a dance performance, you can discover new ways to address curriculum standards? Dance embraces music, visual arts, theater, sociology, and technology. Dance emulates life in its problem solving, critical thinking and collaborative approaches as well as its quest for beauty, passion, compassion and adventure.
The Dancemaker is the magician that puts it all together using the body as the tool for discovery and expression. David Parsons, Doug Varone, Victor Quidaja, Lar Lubovitch and Nacho Duato are master choreographers who design, invent and create dances. Their imaginative works may be based on an idea, image, mood, feeling, story or piece of music that evolves through the creative process into a full-scale production.
Students are encouraged to learn more about these dance inventors and innovators by researching on the internet, reading biographies and watching documentary videos. Additional suggestions for curriculum links and for addressing standards are available through our complimentary study guides designed specifically to target each program and to extend the learning experience. |
